Teachers?
Customers?
Visitors?
Guests bringing their own devices?
The system should be designed around their needs and technical comfort level.
What needs to work together?
Commercial AV rarely involves a single device.
Displays may need to work with speakers, microphones, cameras, control systems, presentation technology, networks, and other equipment.
Selecting components independently can create compatibility or usability problems later.
Planning the environment as a complete system helps avoid that.
What happens when the organization grows?
A room may meet today’s needs perfectly and become limiting two years later.
Before installation, consider whether additional displays, rooms, devices, or locations may eventually be added.
Planning reasonable expansion early can make future upgrades easier.
Technology should solve a problem
Don’t start your AV project by asking:
“Which screen should we buy?”
Start with:
“What are people trying to accomplish in this space?”
